Hitachi will produce Winchesters on 4 terabytes

The Japanese company Hitachi declared that to 2011 will produce hard disks, able to keep 4 terabyte information on the personal computers and 1 terabyte – on laptops.

The employees of company Hitachi succeeded to decrease the basic element of hard disk – reading head – to the nano size. And it will allow to write down on transmitters much more information, than it is possible now.

As known, today hard disks can write down no more one terabyte of information. And terabyte is approximately 1 million, 250 o'clock of the videotape recording of high permission, or 250 thousands of files books with music.

The Japanese specialists during creation of Winchester of new standard utilized the effect of beyond magnetoresistivity (GMR), for opening of which a Frenchman Albert Fert and German Peter Greenberg this year got the Nobel bonus on physics. Specialists set that at some metals at transferring to the strong magnetic field electric resistance increases sharply. This opening helped scientific to create more sensible reading heads for the stores of information, which on the sizes approximately in two thousand one times thinner than human hair (from 30 to 50 nano meters).

Experts mark that to 2009 at the market of Winchesters the new generation of technologies, based on beyond magnetoresistivity will begin to be actively inculcated.
